Head Coach Brooke Bredenberg

Brooke Bredenberg is in her second season as head coach at Wayne State College. The Wildcats posted a 10-10-1 overall mark and was 4-4-1 in the NSIC (sixth place) in Bredenberg's first season at the helm. A highlight to Bredenberg's first season as head coach was a 1-0 overtime shootout win at third-seeded Bemidji State in the first round of the 2006 NSIC Tournament.  The Wildcats went on to a fourth place finish in the event.

Bredenberg was a standout player at the University of Nebraska from 2001-2004. While student teaching at Beatrice HS in 2005-06, she coached the Lady Orange girl's soccer team to one of its best seasons in school history, going 7-7 and advancing to the Class B-4 District Final, falling to eventual Class B State runner-up Lincoln Pius.

A native of Dayton, Minnesota, Bredenberg was a four-year letter winner at Nebraska while playing three different positions for the Huskers. She scored six goals and had two assists for 14 points during her senior season at NU, ranking third on the team in scoring. As a junior, Bredenberg played goal keeper and notched an 11-6-1 record with a 1.39 goals against average. She played midfielder as a freshman and sophomore. Bredenberg finished her career at Nebraska with eight goals and four assists.

In high school, Bredenberg earned all-state soccer honors as a junior and senior at Champlin Park High School in Dayton, Minnesota. She helped her team win the conference championship as a senior and scored 58 points on 23 goals and 12 assists as a junior. Bredenberg also excelled in track and field, placing second in the 300-meter hurdles (43.98) at the Minnesota Class AA State Track Meet as a senior in 2001. She was a three-time team MVP in track and field and also earned three letters in basketball. In club soccer, Bredenberg helped the Minnesota Blackhawks 18-under team to the 2001 State Cup title, representing Minnesota at the Midwest Regional Championships in Springfield, Missouri.

Bredenberg is a 2006 graduate of the University of Nebraska, earning her bachelor's degree in K-12 art education.
